Graduates of the GW Department of Religion are equipped with knowledge and skills to engage in our increasingly globalized world with insight and understanding. Some alumni go on to religious professional roles, but the majority apply their liberal arts education to other sectors, including law, medicine, business and teaching.
A religion degree can provide excellent groundwork for careers in government agencies and NGOs, especially those focused on international affairs, given the central role that religion often plays in this discipline. Other alumni pursue doctoral programs, with recent students placing at such top universities as Princeton University, Emory University, Harvard Divinity School, the University of Pennsylvania, King's College London and the University of Virginia.
