Patrick Beldio, MFA, PhD, is a professorial lecturer in the Department of World Religions at George Washington University, specializing in comparative theology with a focus on Hinduism, Sufism, and Christian spirituality. He recently completed a three-year appointment as Visiting Assistant Professor at the University of Scranton. He also serves as a Research Fellow at Georgetown University's Berkley Center for Religion, Peace, and World Affairs and as an adjunct professor in its Theology and Religious Studies Department, where he directs Waymarks Toward Reunion, a grant-funded interfaith sacred arts initiative.
His book, The Mother of the Sri Aurobindo Ashram: Co-Creator of the Integral Yoga (Bloomsbury, 2025), recovers the legacy of Mirra Alfassa as co-architect of the Integral Yoga with Sri Aurobindo.
Beldio is also a professional sacred sculptor with a studio at the Franciscan Monastery in Washington, DC. His work, including The New Being, a 39.5-foot sculpture for Sufism Reoriented in Walnut Creek, California, is held in collections across the United States, Europe, and India.
